Lexus was looking for something special when they contacted FiveAxis tuning to add their touch to their new performance vehicle the Lexus ISF for the Sema Auto Show.GT Channel recently interviewed Troy Sumitomo of FiveAxis tuning who goes on to talk about the wide body kit added to this Lexus ISF. This is probably the widest ISF you will ever see, totaling in at a total of 6 inches wide. The So Cal tuning company also threw on its own custom 20-inchers on the the ISF to complete the widebody look. For engine modifications on this Japanese racer, FiveAxis added a custom exhaust and Stage II engine package.
From conceptual design, to manufacturing, to final product, Five Axis handles all their work under one roof. Troy Sumitomo graduated from the esteemed Art Center of Design with a BS in Automotive Design back in ’92 and hasn’t looked
back.
Learning the ropes at other fabrication companies, Troy eventually struck out on his own and started Five Axis in 1995. The name Five Axis derived from an actual computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system. These 3D, five sided, computer programmable machines are setting the standard in the engineering field and is the weapon of choice for Troy and his company.
Starting in a quaint 800 sq/ft locale in Santa Ana, Five Axis has grown into a 22,000 sq/ft metropolis in Huntington Beach, CA. From concept cars to one-off custom parts, if you can dream it, Five Axis can bring it to reality.
