As a foam and clay concept, the Honda Remix doesn’t have an experimental gasless, odorless, engine powered by the driver’s thoughts of forward motion; frameless seats (you need a completed interior to have seats); a joystick replacing the steering wheel and pedals (again, you need an interior…); or any features whatsoever designed specifically to make it a hit with tailgaters, campers, extreme sports athletes, your mom, or Libertarians. It’s a styling exercise.
A styling exercise for what? Honda designer Ben Davidson says the Remix is for people who “enjoy the urban lifestyle and simple, modern design but [don’t] have a lot of money.” If you really squint, do you see a Remixed CRX as Tom Cruise might have driven in Minority Report. Honda says there are no production plans for the Remix.
