The 2001 GT-R concept, was not designated as the R35, to say the least. Nissan never referred to it as that. The upcoming Nissan GT-R, as Nissan calls the car, will use an all-new chassis. And it's not going to be based on the current Nissan Skyline/Infiniti G35 (which, by the way, has the same chassis with the Nissan 350Z instead). That, by the way, is the reason why the "Skyline" name is absent. So, it may have a different designation now.
